Terms of Use

Last updated: July 26, 2026

By using tapholdimage.com ("the Site", "the tool"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. The service

Tap and Hold Image Maker is a free tool that lets you paint a visible region on an image and export a PNG that shows differently depending on the background X composites it against. It runs entirely in your browser: there is no account, no sign-up, and no file is ever uploaded to us or processed on a server.

2. Your images and content

You are solely responsible for the images you process with this tool. Do not use the Site to create or distribute images that infringe someone else's copyright, violate their privacy or likeness rights, or are illegal, harassing, or otherwise harmful. Because nothing is uploaded, we have no ability to see, moderate, or remove content you create — that responsibility rests entirely with you.

3. Ownership of your output

You retain all rights to the images you upload and to the PNG files you export. We claim no ownership or license over your content — the tool never receives a copy of it in the first place.

4. The effect depends on a third party

The tap-and-hold effect relies on how X (formerly Twitter) currently renders transparent PNG images against different backgrounds in its timeline versus its expanded image view. We do not control X's rendering behaviour, and X may change it at any time without notice — which could make the effect stop working entirely. We make no guarantee that an exported image will behave any particular way on X, now or in the future.

This Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. "X" and "Twitter" are trademarks of their respective owners.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the images it helps you produce are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser or device.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or from images you create with it, including any consequences of posting them to X or any other platform.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
